Cancellation/ No Show Policy

Your missed appointment time is reserved just for you. A late cancellation or missed visit leaves a hole in the therapists’ day that could have been filled by another client. As such we require 24 hours notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment. Clients who provide less than 24 hours notice, or their appointment, will be charged a cancellation fee of $50 for the first incident. Subsequent sessions canceled late or missed will be charged the full session cost.

Invoices for any late cancellation fees will be sent to the family on a monthly basis to be paid by the client. Please note that cancellation and no show fees are the direct responsibility of the client family unless otherwise stated in the clients funding agreement.

The following funding programs do not cover late/ no show fees: Jordan’s Principle, Autism Funding, At Home Therapy Program.

We are able to make exceptions to this policy in the case of an emergency, or in case of illness reported before 8:00 am on the day of the scheduled session.

Illness Policy

PSDS does everything possible to keep the clinics clean and safe for both our clients and staff. We ask that families do their part by canceling sessions when your child is sick. Below are some guidelines to help decipher when your child should or should not be having a session.

If your child has a known or suspected communicable disease, and/or any of the following symptoms we ask that you cancel your session.

     ● Excessive runny nose
     ● Excessive coughing or sneezing
     ● Fever
     ● Vomiting
     ● Diarrhea
     ● Rash (unless you have seen a doctor and it has been deemed non-contagious)
     ● Lethargic

If your child regularly experiences any of these symptoms due to medical conditions that are non illness related it will be noted in their chart and service delivery would not be affected.

The client must be…
     ● Symptom free for 24 hours prior to session
     ● Not taking any over the counter medication to mask symptoms
     ● Able to actively participate in session

If your child arrives for a session and it is determined that they are not well enough to fully participate, the parent/guardian will be called to pick up their child from the clinic. Full session rate will still apply.
